A build log on running a one-woman business with AI

About

Hi, I'm V. I'm a mom in my 30s, and I'm building an income stream online so I can spend more of my days with my kid. Creative Digital Story is my small digital product studio, and this blog is where I share how it all comes together.

Here is the part that makes this blog different: almost everything I make is built with AI. My blogs research and draft their own posts on a schedule. My interactive guides, trackers and courses are built with AI from a blank page. I still decide what to make, edit every word and test every link, but AI does a remarkable share of the heavy lifting.

What you'll find here

This blog is my build log. Every Saturday I publish one entry on how a real piece of my business works:

  • Behind the Build: how each blog, tool and product actually got made, prompts included.
  • AI Tools: plain-English walkthroughs of the tools I use, for people who don't code.
  • Income Experiments: what I tried, what it cost and what it earned, flops included.
  • Playbooks: step-by-step plans for Etsy, Pinterest, Threads, print on demand and digital products.

Why I'm doing this

I want work that fits around family life, not the other way round. AI makes that possible for a one-woman business: it handles the research, the first drafts and a lot of the building, so the hours I do have go into the decisions that matter. If you want something similar for your own family, I hope this blog saves you some trial and error.

What you won't find

No "make $10k in a weekend" promises. Building a business with AI is real, but it is still a business: it takes testing, patience and a lot of small fixes. I would rather show you the honest middle of the process than a highlight reel.

How this blog is made

Fittingly, this blog is partly automated too. A scheduled AI task researches and drafts each week's entry, then I review it, add my own screenshots and numbers, and publish. You can read exactly how that works in the build log.

Every Saturday

The Saturday Build

One new build log a week, plus the prompts and tools behind it. No hype, no get-rich-quick promises.
